CATS programme
Who are we?
Callington and Saltash CATS - Community Action Through Sports - is all about promoting and rewarding young people for doing something positive in their community. We reward ANY positive community action, be it a litter pick, an environment project, fundraising for a cause, sports coaching or helping others in their community. CATS rewards the young people with a great variety of sports and activity awards.
What difference does it make?
We work with the police, schools, councils and youth organisations to get young people involved positively in their community. We know that rewarding a young person publically does wonders for their self-esteem, reinforces the message that positive action reaps rewards, leads by example and encourages young people to play an active role in their community. It is a very simple but very effective idea that really does work!
What do you need to do?
We ask that you think about any young person that has done something positive in your community. Your 'community' could be your school, your sports club, your village or town. What volunteer work has been done by a young person that has improved the area or lives of others? We have 5 levels of awards, so it does not matter how little or large the contribution, even the smallest effort could recieve a Level 1 award! Please download and fill in the nomination form if you know someone who deserves recognition!
