Funded through HALP (Healthy Active Living Project) and BSkyB, the Feeling Good Looking Good Secondary project now runs in all our Partnership Secondaries. It actively encourages the participation and engagement of Yr 10 girls and has already produced some very positive results for the girls involved, significantly increasing their self-esteem, confidence and motivation.
At the end of the 6 week Secondary program, the Year 10 girls host a festival for a group of Year 6 girls from Primary schools. The girls from the primary school are then able to access a range of exciting activities including nail art and face painting, Wii sports and Dance.
One student commented ‘The festival has been amazing, we have enjoyed all the activities!'
Michelle Roberts, project organiser, said, 'The Festival provided a great opportunity for the Year 10 girls to demonstrate their skills and leadership qualities working with younger peers from the primary school. The girls involved have worked really hard and I am very proud of their achievements.'
We are also delighted to announce that we have started to introduce the primary Feeling Good Looking Good project, 'Feeling Fabulous', into several of our primary schools during this year.
