Siblyback Water Sports Activity Festival
Over 250 young people are involved in the annual Water Sports Festival at Siblyback Lake during the summer term. This festival involves pupils from all 5 secondary schools in East Cornwall.
Organised in association with the South West Lakes Trust, the afternoon festival involves competitions in Sailing, Wind Surfing, Surf Skis, Problem Solving, Climbing and Raft Racing. Prior to the event pupils attend training with South West Lakes Trust staff at Siblyback in Wind Surfing and Sailing. All competitors in Wind Surfing and Sailing must achieve a star one award prior to the event so the pressure is on!!
On the day teams of 6 compete in the Raft racing and the surf ski events. The competitors will need to display their skills on the lake in a relay style event.
In the Sailing and Windsurfing events the youngsters will be put through their paces under the watchful eye of the staff from South West Lakes Trust. The climbing event proved to be an exciting addition to the water-based activities, as teams of 4 from each school are put to the test on a mobile climbing wall to decide the climbing champion.
Teams of 8 from each school then work on the banks of the lake, to solve a range of exciting 'problems'.
Outdoor Adventure Surf and Activity Festival
Over 250 pupils from 6 local schools are involved in the annual Outdoor Adventure Inter-Academy Surf and Activity Festival at Widemouth Bay Beach during the Autumn term.

In 2008, the partnership worked in conjunction with the Cornish Schools Surfing Championship, to offer the elite surf champions the opportunity to represent the partnership at the prestigious event in Newquay in November.
Callington School Sport Partnership wishes to thank Black Rock Surf Co, O'Neil, Reef, Animal, Cornwall FA, The RNLI, Cornwall Outdoors Mobile Climbing Wall and Outdoor Adventure for their support and sponsorship of this event in 2008.
