Wake up and shake up Sharing Afternoon at Budehaven a great success!

Over 100 primary school children showed their Wake and Shake routines to pupils, parents and staff. The afternoon started with Kilkhampton KS 1 pupils energetically moving to ‘Rockin Robin', from then on the Sports Hall was alive with music, activity and well practised routines! KS 1 pupils from Stratton showed their routine using the ‘Mamma Mia' music and St Marks shared their routine using ‘Bob the Builder' music. The Year 10 leaders who helped with the organisation of the event said, "The younger pupils were amazing, they all moved to the music and showed such enthusiasm - the applause was deafening". Not to be outdone by the younger ones the KS 2 pupils from Bude, Marhamchurch, Jacobstow, Kilkhampton, Stratton and St Marks also excelled in showing lively and energetic routines which they had devised. Several brave groups had offered to teach their routines to others, so the last half hour turned out to be teaching workshops - within 5 minutes 4 CD players blasted out different tunes and every corner of the Sportshall was full of pupils teaching each other their routines. The confidence of the first group of teaching pupils spilled over and all the pupils ended up teaching their routines to each other. Mrs Walter, who oversaw the event, was most impressed with all the pupils' routines and was delighted with the way they approached teaching their routines. There was a lovely, healthy, friendly and smiley atmosphere - Well done to everyone who took part, you were all Superstars!
