In response to a significant increase in the rise of both obesity, diabetes and mental health challenges in children, we have developed a range of programmes which are all aimed at encouraged children to become Sugar Smart.
We have a range of programmes that work with individual classes, whole school, parents and staff. The programmes meet the challenges above and cover various parts of the RSE Statutory Legislation from the DFE released in September 2020. They include:
Sugar Smart Leaders
An innovative leadership course designed to give your pupils increased leadership skills and games to deliver to in your school. This course is delivered to 16-20 pupils over a whole day. Alternitvely this course can be delivered over a 6 to 12 week block.
Sugar Smart Mini’s
This KS1 based course can be held in a day, a module of 6 or 12 weeks. It covers many topics from activity, sleep, teeth, healthy bodies and many more.
Sugar Smart Explorers
Aimed at Year 3 and 4, this course goes into more depth than the Mini's course. It is a good follow on stage for pupils who have previously done the Mini's programme or as a standalone. It is very active and pupils discover many sugar smart facts along the way. The course runs over a 6 or 12 week block.
Sugar Smart Buddies
Aiming to work with pupils and parents. This course looks at eating and activity habits of the whole family. This can be done as a one off or over a number of weeks after school.
This involves a visit and comprehensive report in to how we can help your school meet its active 30/30 challenges. This can be particularly useful for new Primary Sports Coordinators as it can help you gain a real insight into your school. We will also help with obtaining quotes for any work you feel will benefit your school.
Healthy Active Lifestyle and Wellbeing Days
Whole day events aimed at giving your pupils a snap shot of how they can become more aware of their health and wellbeing. Modules can be chosen from activities like mindfulness, problem solving, physical activity and healthy foods.
Alternative Sports Days
A whole day event designed to give your pupils a chance to experience sports they may not have tried or even thought of before. Sports like archery, boccia, lacrosse, fencing as well as many more are built into this event.
These programmes can be made bespoke for your school so check the price list and get in contact.
