Wild Tribe Outdoor Learning has been taking place this half term at Windmill Academy. KS2 pupils have been taking part in some interactive sessions learning about 2D and 3D shapes. They have used sticks to create different shapes and discussed the properties of these shapes. They also had the opportunity to make their own coaster with a cork square and learnt how to tessellate the shape using tape to create their own innovative pattern. Developing their skills further they were able to create their own geo shapes using geo boards and creating shapes using elastic bands. Using boards, nails and hammers they were tasked with making their own boards and coming up with their own innovative designs. Using their knowledge of 2D and 3D shapes the next step was to create a 3D shape out of sticks to build a fire, marshmallows, hot chocolate and smores were enjoyed by all. KS2 pupils have worked well to develop their maths skills and their outdoor learning skills.
